Our Goals
Our festival isn’t just about great music, inspiring talks, nourishing workshops, delicious food and drink, and moments of healing and connection… It’s about what comes after the festival too. We want the energy we create together to continue supporting our community long into the future.
Recently, Richard Vobes invited us onto his YouTube channel, where we shared our vision for helping the community grow and encouraged others to create their own Assemblies, too.
Steve Iam Iam and Wendy Jane
Sounds Beautiful’s Festival Directors
Steve has been a dedicated part of the BCA for several years, and Wendy Jane, the founder of Sounds Beautiful and creator of wonderful events, has now joined the core team as well.
The Bournemouth Community Assembly (BCA) has become a vital space for learning, empowerment, and support, helping people understand their rights and make life choices rooted in clarity and freedom.
One dream in the works is a community hotline offering supportive guidance, whether for alternative approaches to mental health or first-aid, connecting people with caring providers who understand their individual needs and choices.
Many wonderful groups have blossomed out of the BCA, powered by passionate people who pour their time, energy, and often their own resources into protecting and uplifting our community. Now, it feels like the right moment to give something back.
And what better way than by gathering for an unforgettable festival – four joyful days of music, sunshine and connection, while raising the funds needed to create a sustainable home for these groups?
Steve and Wendy are also seeking land where food can be grown, well-being can flourish, workshops can take place, and people can learn skills to bring back to their own neighbourhoods. With a little luck, it will even become a future home for the festival itself.
We cannot wait to spend four magical days with all of you, sun, fun, laughter, music, and a whole lot of heart. But truly, this is only the beginning of something much bigger.
Sounds wonderful? We think so too.
Here’s to June 2026!
